My first impression of Huanchaco is that lonely planet was wrong, it’s not a sleepy town. I’m surprised by the amount of bars and little restaurants that are on my street alone. There seems to be something going on every weekend if not every night. Huanchaco is small and quite touristy. Peruvians come on holiday here as much as internationals and every other street seems to have a hostel on it. The family I’m living with are really friendly and made me feel at home straight away, cooking for me and helping me with my phone and bank card problems. As I’m typing this the grandma brought me some jelly she made today.
